upgrade to 8.3 fails with database upgrade

Hi,

just done the upgrade to 8.3 and I am getting the error during the upgrade process when it does the database upgrade:

'mysql said: ERROR 1060 at line 1: duplicate column name 'debug_level'

Can I also please request that these new versions come out a few days before the expiry date in the beta?   It's kinda frustrating that this far in we still have the short expiry dates which don't take into account everyone is not located in the USA where due to timezones we have a day of the software being broken each time.

cheers,

Matt

What version of the server did you have installed previously? That upgrade is only performed when you install beta8.2 or newer on a system that had beta8.1 or older. The database is not downgraded if you downgrade; maybe you previously upgraded (or partially upgraded) to beta8.2, and then installed an older version on top of that.

Regardless, the problem here is that it's trying to apply changes that are already applied. It's safe to answer 'no' to the question about upgrading the database; it should finish installing and everything will work.

I agree that we should release farther ahead of expirations. In this case, changes were going in just hours before testing and release, to fix a few bugs with Panasonic devices that had just been reported. The next expiration is midnight UTC on December 15th, which is a Thursday; that should give us more time in the days leading up to the expiration to get a release ready.

Let me know how the upgrade goes without applying the database changes.
