What should the version number read?

I think I have an old version installed and updating per the instructions is not changing the outcome.

When I go to Help > About, the version reads beta7

I will mention that I had a heck of time updating and perhaps I did something incorrect.
I performed outlined instruction for updating via the update manager and received a "public key" error. I then received the same error via the terminal. I then went through the installation process again in the hopes to just overwrite the files. This removed the error as it reports as being up to date. However, the "about" text has me confused.

The client versions and server versions are kept separate.  The current client version is beta 7.  The current server version is 9.3.

The web interface will tell you if you are using the latest version or not:

Thanks!

Thanks, however I don't see that in my web interface. I see the message above it "Server process running" and the "Server statistics" below it. (attached a snipped screenshot)

The page you linked indicates that I should see the current version number as well as an indication of a new version should one be available.

Is this because I am accessing the page via a browser (Chrome)?

If you go into General -> Check for available updates and enable that, it should show the current installed version.

Thanks
